The Council have a fleet of 5 minibuses situated around various areas of Shetland and available for hire by local community groups. Requirements Needed Before Driving a Council Minibus: Apart from the group completing an application for hire, the proposed driver of the minibus must satisfy the following requirements for insurance to be effective:
Errors, Ommissions and Inaccuracies: An application containing any errors, ommissions or inaccuracies will be returned unauthorised. Previous applications have been returned due to:
Training: All persons must undertake and successfully complete the theory and practical sections of the MiDAS training (if they have not already done so). The training deals with all aspects of minibus use, including the evacuation of passengers in an emergency situation. Community Development arrange the training.
