| Before a contractor commences work for the Council they must meet the following liability insurance criteria:
Public Liability Insurance: All contractors are required to provide us with evidence of Public Liability insurance of no less than £5,000,000, regardless of the value of the contract. They must provide us with this evidence before commencing work for the Council.
Employers' Liability Insurance: If a contractor has any employees, they will also require Employers' Liability cover of no less than £10,000,000. If this cover is applicable to the contractor they must provide us with this evidence before commencing work for the Council.
Professional Indemnity Insurance: There may be occasions where a contractor's services involve providing advice. These contractors would require Professional Indemnity insurance. The level of cover required will depend largely on the value of the contract.
