"Council spending - have YOUR say" public meetings
People throughout the Isles are being invited to a series of public meetings on the issue of council budgets and the possible cutbacks being faced in the coming years.
Shetland Islands Council has determined to cut £26 million from council spending over the next two years. At each meeting councillors and officers will present the bare facts of the council’s financial situation and members of the public will have the opportunity to make suggestions for savings.
