The Council's Sport & Leisure Service manages several public leisure facilities and amenities throughout Shetland, including:
- outdoor sports pitches
- games halls
- play areas
- multicourts
- footpaths
- and the Knab 9-hole golf course.

Pitchline
For the latest information on outdoor pitches in Lerwick, please call our Pitchline on 01595 745432. During the summer months, from April to September, this telephone information service will be updated regularly, with details of bookings and any cancellations, particularly in the event of adverse weather.
Booking a Games Hall
We take bookings for the Gilbertson Park Games Hall in Lerwick, Sandwick School Games Hall and Scalloway School Games Hall.
Ways to book
Games Hall Booking forms can be collected and returned to our reception at:
Sport and Leisure, Hayfield House, Hayfield Lane, Lerwick ZE1 0QD

Block Bookings
Block Booking applications are now being invited for the 2013 spring/summer period. No booking will be allocated to an organisation with an outstanding payment due.
Priority will be given to organisations who book the entire winter period i.e. September to April.

How to Book an Outdoor Facility
Outdoor Pitches at: Gilbertson Park, Seafield, Clickimin South and Clickimin Rugby Pitch can now be booked using the following Booking Form which should be printed off, completed and returned to Sport and Leisure.
Knab Golf Course
Knab 9 hole golf course in the south end of Lerwick is free to use between May and September. Download and print off a copy of the course scorecard here (PDF 196KB).

Play Areas
Shetland Islands Council maintain and inspect seventy one play areas across Shetland. We are currently updating the Google Map to include the locations of all these play areas.
