Water Quality Results
The water quality for the past four bathing season was excellent at St Ninians Isle, West Voe Sands, the Sands of Breckon and Tresta Sands.
The 2011 bathing season is from the 1st of June to the 15th of September, and water sampling results for all 5 beaches can be seen below.
Guideline: water quality means that the sample met the following EC Guideline Standards: less than or equal to 500 coliforms per 100ml of water and 100 faecal coliforms per 100ml of water.
Mandatory: water quality means that the sample met the following EC Mandatory Standards:less than or equal to 10,000 total coliforms per 100ml of water and 2,000 faecal coliforms per 100ml.
Fail: water quality indicates that the sample failed to meet the standard required for Good water quality.
