Waste Prevention

Waste prevention is the first and most important step in the waste hierarchy as, if waste is not produced it does not need to be managed later. There are many ways in which you can reduce the waste you produce:

3. Look for minimal packaging– choose loose vegetables, buy bulk items

4. Reduce travel miles– buy local produce

5. Reduce food waste– plan out meals and buy what you need

6. Compost where possible– to reduce biodegradable waste

7. Join the mail preference service– to reduce unwanted mail

8. Think before you dump– can it be used elsewhere

9. Use ecological cleaning produces

10. Say no to plastic bags
