IMPORTANT NOTICE

NO Domestic Bulky Household Waste Collection – Lerwick Area

Please note that, as part of Shetland Islands Council’s budget savings for 2011-12, the Council WILL NOT be collecting items of bulky household waste from domestic properties in Lerwick this year.

If you have any bulky items, please take them to the Gremista Waste Management Facility and Recycling Centre in Lerwick, where they can be disposed of free of charge.

The Recycling Centre is open all year round (except Public Holidays):

Monday to Friday               8am to 8pm

Saturday and Sunday       8am to 5pm

The Council provides facilities for householders in country areas to dispose of their bulky items of refuse by arranging for skips to be placed in these areas in co-operation with the Community Councils.
