• The Energy Recovery Plant incinerated 20,920 tonnes of waste in the year 2007/08 which was slightly less than the projected 21,200 tonnes.

• The average megawatts produced by the Plant for feeding the Lerwick District Heating Scheme was on target at 6.5 MW/hour.

• The Plant was operational for 7,573 hours during the year which was less than the target of 7,800 hours. There are two planned shutdowns during the year when maintenance is carried out.

• During the year seven schools achieved their Eco School Flags.

• Surveys were sent out in 2007 and 2008 to customers using the Energy Recovery Plant and Landfill Site. The scores have been converted to percentages. 0% being poor and 100% being excellent.
