Here are some examples of people's thoughts about Bridges:

Bridges is important because they prepare you for life and also to get you to learn better skills for the future, and to get you to know a bit more about the world and what to do in it!

I remember when I jumped off a 2 metre cliff and I was so scared but I did it, I consider this a big achievement because I do not like heights.  I wanted to achieve something different and not be scared of it just because it was in water.  This is like lots of things in life. Give it a go!!

I would recommend bridges because it’s a good thing for young people to go and see and to find out a bit more about it. I could say that Bridges gives you a taster of the future and lets you stretch your wings and interact with other people.

I have made a lot of friends already at Bridges, and even though I have only been going for a couple of weeks my confidence has been rising a bit and I am feeling happier than I have in quite a while now I have something to do. I am proud that I managed to go up the climbing wall several times, and really enjoy it.

It is helping me do a lot of things I thought I wouldn’t ever have the confidence or be able to do before. The Presentation Skills course was also very helpful because that is one of my weak points, and taught me how to keep calm and to notice for any ‘ habitual ’ things I may do – in my case it was focusing on one side of the room and not the other – and my confidence grew around that too.

I feel I have more confidence now because I’ve been in situations when I have to work with other people.  I have met new people on Bridges.  I have tried things that I probably wouldn’t do if I weren’t on Bridges.

Bridges built my confidence - before I had zero.

I would never had coped with a job without Bridges and the work experience I got.

After 2 weeks at Bridges I knew what I wanted to do with my life.
