Each MSYP serves for a term of two years, with national elections
The Scottish Youth Parliament think that young people in Scotland have the right to have their views listened to and acted upon. We want to work together with all organisations and groups in Scotland which have a link with young people, to ensure they do as best they can for Scotland's young people.
The Scottish Youth Parliament (SYP) generally meets four times a year, discusses issues which affect young people across Scotland and tries to propose innovative and sometimes radical solutions to these problems and situations.
The Scottish Youth Parliament has received financial support from the Scottish Executive since shortly after it started and this has continued with the recently elected Scottish Government currently providing a large percentage of our running costs.
With strong cross-party support, SYP members have been able to express their views to both government and opposition parties alike, including the First Minister, other Party Leaders and even to the Prime Minister.
