As well as providing specific services in each part of the islands, the Mental Health Team offers a number of Shetland-wide services.

- Video Conferencing and Visits: The Department makes use of modern confidential Video Conferencing links - for appointments with patients in the islands, for patients to hold appointments with consultants in the south, for relatives of patients in Cornhill Hospital in Aberdeen to 'visit' them via the video link, or for the staff to take part in case conferences with colleagues in the south.
- Annsbrae House Supported Accommodation & Mental Health Community Support Service. Annsbrae House provides 8 supported tenancies and one respite place for people with mental health difficulties. An outreach service is also provided from Annsbrae and this can be accessed through the Mental Health Department. The outreach service can help people with daily living skills and provide support and monitoring of their mental health.
