Council Meetings
In order to delegate its main functions, the Council has established the following committees:
- Policy and Resources Committee
- Education and Families Committee
- Development Committee
- Environment and Transport Committee
The Shetland Islands Council and NHS Shetland also established an Integration Joint Board [IJB], which has responsiblity for delegated functions related to health and social care.
The Council has also appointed other committees and boards to conduct legislative requirements or oversee the work of the Council in a range of areas. These are:

Meetings Dates
Most meetings of the Council and its committees are held in the Council Chamber, Town Hall, Lerwick, and all meetings are open to the public.
