Support for businesses – Shetland Islands COVID-19 Discretionary Fund

The second phase of the Shetland Islands COVID-19 Discretionary Fund is open to applications till 13th December.

The second phase of the Shetland Islands COVID-19 Discretionary Fund aims to provide a grant to Shetland businesses who have experienced financial challenges as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, but who have been without financial support since October 2020 following the adoption of Scotland’s Strategic Framework.

To be eligible for the fund, businesses must have experienced a financial impact as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, but have been ineligible for any other Scottish Government support schemes.

Grant awards will be determined on the following basis:

  • Sole Traders = £4,000
  • Micro Businesses (1-9 employees not including Directors, partners or spouses) = £4,000
  • Small Businesses (10-49 employees not including Directors, partners or spouses) = £10,000

The Fund is open to all business types, e.g. Limited Companies, Sole Traders, Trusts and Partnerships. The Fund will close to applications on 13 December 2021.

Businesses may be required to provide evidence of reduced income due to COVID-19, and meet all other eligibility criteria.
