Speech/Voice Recognition Software

Speech recognition software allows users to control a computer, tablet, or smartphone and input text using their voice. This can support individuals with mobility impairments, repetitive strain injuries, or those who prefer voice commands to typing. 

Based on guidance from AbilityNet, the following are widely available free speech recognition tools, many of which are built into common operating systems and devices:
