Parent / Carer Childcare Consultation Survey 2021
Between 17 November and 15 December 2021 Shetland Islands Council conducted a childcare survey to collect parent/carer views about the current and future delivery of early learning and childcare and school-aged childcare services in Shetland.
The survey was split into two sections:
- Section A focused specifically on funded early learning and childcare, how parents/carers view the increase of 1140 funded hours, as well as the potential need for any additional childcare.
- Section B centred around school-aged childcare. This section covered current school-aged childcare in Shetland, and aimed to assesses whether provision meets the needs of parents/carers, and aims to consider where services may need to be developed in the future.
The findings from this survey will be used to support decision making around the service delivery model for statutory early learning and childcare in Shetland and to aid wider planning in relation to improving accessibility to non-statutory childcare for families across Shetland.
