Shetland Islands Council has advertised new job vacancies for day cleaners in schools across Shetland.
The main duties of the posts will include routine cleaning of frequently touched surfaces, contact points, bathrooms and high traffic areas. The contracts are temporary, for a period of approximately 12 months for 25-30 hours per week, term-time.

George Smith, Chair of the Council’s Education and Families Committee commented: “Council staff have been working hard to arrange for pupils to be able to attend schools from 11th August. The health and safety of pupils and school staff is our foremost consideration and regular cleaning of our schools will reduce the risk of infection. We need additional staff to do this and I hope that we will see a good number of applicants for these posts.”
