Shetland Islands Council has imposed a mandatory speed limit of 20mph on the Dales Leas section of road on the A968 between Voe and Toft.
Contractors working on behalf of the Council are currently replacing barriers along the carriageway. The lower speed limit is necessary to reduce the risk to workers from speeding traffic. The temporary Traffic Regulation Order will be in place for the duration of the works.
Drivers who are travelling to meet a ferry at Toft Ferry Terminal should allow extra time for their journey. Shetland Islands Council would like to apologise for any inconvenience.
