Climate Conversation logo competition

Climate change logo competition nov 2021

Shetland Islands Council has launched a competition open to pupils in all secondary schools across the isles to design a new logo for the Shetland Climate Conversation.

The logo competition is now open with the winning entry to be used to highlight where information is being used to progress works on Climate Change, including digitally, for surveys and reports, and on printed items such as leaflets and posters.

The winner will be announced on Friday 12th November, the last day of COP26 – the UN Climate Change Conference currently taking part in Glasgow.

The competition is being held in partnership with Developing the Young Workforce Shetland, part of the Scottish Government’s Youth Employment Strategy, and local graphic design company, Art Machine.   The winner will also get the opportunity to develop their logo design and gain work experience with Art Machine.

Claire Ferguson, Team Leader – Climate Change Strategy, said “The Shetland Climate Conversation aims to engage the community on Climate Change, understand concerns, encourage partnerships, and find solutions to reduce and reverse the impact on the environment.  We’re really excited to be able to involve the energy and creativity of young people in Shetland schools in coming up with a logo that hopefully captures the essence of those discussions.”

Notes for Editors
