Tenth Marsali mystery to launch at Shetland Library

Shetland Library book launch

Local author Marsali Taylor will hit a milestone next week when she launches the 10th book in her Cass Lynch series of Shetland crime books.

It’s ‘A Shetland Winter Mystery’, from Headline Publishing. This will be the first book launch in the new library, and is a drop-in event with mulled apple juice and special anniversary cake on offer.  She will be signing books and meeting readers, with her books available to buy in the library. There will also be a quiz to try in the lead up to the launch, and a treasure hunt on the night, both with prizes.

Marsali says: “Cass’s latest adventure involves a host of young people as well as the usual characters - it was written during lockdown, and I was really missing my grandchildren and my visits to Aith School.  It’s set around the Yules, and begins with Cass waking on Tulya’s Een to find little trowie footprints in the snow around her house.”

Library manager Karen Fraser: “Marsali has launched nearly all her books in the Library.  She is one of our top lending authors and has an ever growing readership beyond Shetland.  It is really fitting that she is our first author to launch in the new space, as she has such a big connection with us.”

The event is being run on the Library’s late opening evening which coincides with late night shopping in Lerwick -  Thursday, 2 December from 6pm-8pm, and all are welcome.
