The Living Well Hub in Brae will reopen this Friday (4th), offering a drop in service and information on local health and social care support options.

Since first opening last November, the Hub now also hosts regular group and professional visits.  Recent visitors have included staff from NHS Shetland to discuss the “Walk Da Rock” initiative and the Council’s Adult Learning team, with more visits planned in the coming weeks from representatives of Voluntary Action Shetland, Mind Your Head and NHS Health Improvement. Anyone interested in finding out any more, or who has any specific questions is invited to come along to the Hub.

The Living Well Hub in Brae is first Hub in Shetland, as part of the roll-out of the Community Led Support (CLS) programme in Scotland, which aims to link communities with health and social care services.

Ruth MacMillan, Executive Manager – Adult Social Work, said: “The Living Well Hub in Brae is an easy-to-access service for anyone wanting  to find out what health and social care support might be available. Our staff can talk to anyone about local services and link them with support groups and organisations who might be able to help.  With regular visits by health professionals and support groups too, we hope to connect folk so that individuals can access any help they need to improve their lives.”

Anyone looking for more information on the Hub can get in touch on Mondays and Fridays, between 10am and 2pm, by calling 01595 744120 or by email
