A drop-in session will take place next week at the Town Hall, as part of the drive to support and encourage people to stand in May’s Council elections.
There’s already lots of information available online for anyone who’s thinking of putting their name forward, or who thinks they know someone who’d make a good councillor.
For those who would like to speak to current members and officers in person, the Town Hall will be open between 6-8 p.m. on Thursday 10th February. No appointment is necessary - just turn up and hear more about what’s involved, what support is available, and how to put your name forward.
Convener Malcolm Bell: “It might seem like there’s a lot to consider if you’re thinking about standing for election, but there is plenty of support available.
“It’s really valuable to speak to people who have already done the job, so I’d encourage anyone who’s considering standing for election to drop by next week and hear more.”
