Representatives of the National Lottery Community Fund (NLCF) will be in Shetland next month, to meet community groups, charities or Third Sector organisations to discuss funding applications
Any groups or organisations seeking funding are encouraged to attend an evening workshop, where they will hear a short presentation from Dougie Spence and Toby Joss about the Fund’s current grant programmes.
The presentation will be followed by 1-to-1 appointments to hear more about any plans for local projects seeking funding and advice on making funding applications. Appointments are on a first come, first service basis, and are expected to last around 15 minutes each.
The event will take place at Islesburgh Community Centre, on the evening of Tuesday 7th June, with the presentation starting at 6.15pm and 1-to-1 appointments available from 7pm.
Dougie Spence, NLCF Funding Manager – Highlands & Islands Area, said: “We’d be pleased to meet representatives of local groups to explain what the National Lottery Community Fund does, to hear about any project plans and to provide advice on funding applications. We’d encourage anyone thinking of coming along for a chat to make sure they book a 1-to-1 appointment so that we can make sure we have time to discuss their plans.”
To make an appointment, please contact: Michael Duncan, External Funding Officer at Shetland Islands Council, on 01595 743828 or by email to grantsunit@shetland.gov.uk
Separate meetings with community groups have also been arranged by to take place during the visit, through a partnership between Voluntary Action Shetland and the Council.
