All schools and early years settings in Shetland, including Skeld Primary School and Nesting Primary School will be open tomorrow – Monday 19th December.
With rising temperatures in the next 24 hours, and power now restored to many areas, a decision has been made to open all schools tomorrow. Council gritter crews and school staff have today cleared ice and snow from school car parks. Parents, pupils and staff are asked to take care near school entrances and car parks where any icy patches may remain.
Schools across Shetland will close for the end of term at the end of the school day on Tuesday – 20th December.
