Heavy snow showers have led to difficult road conditions today and this will affect late afternoon public bus services.
Council gritters will go ahead of the buses leaving Lerwick after 5pm.
Buses will operate as follows:
- Brae – a single bus will operate as far as Brae (combined Services 21 and 23) – departing Viking Bus Station at 1715
- Walls/Aith – a single bus will operate to Walls with a feeder to Aith from Bixter (combined Services 9 and 12) – departing Viking Bus Station at 1715
- Skeld Feeder – Service 13 will meet Service 9/12 bus at Bixter
- Vidlin – Service 19 will operate as normal – departing Viking Bus Station at 1705
- Scalloway/Burra Feeder – two small buses will operate to Scalloway and on to Burra – departing Viking Bus Station at 1715
- Sumburgh – a single Service 6 bus will operate to Sumburgh Airport – departing the Viking Bus Station at 1715. This service will return from the Airport at 1830 as scheduled.
- Bigton Feeder – will meet the Service 6 at Channerwick
These will be the last service runs tonight. All services and feeders not mentioned above are cancelled for the remainder of the day.
