- Essy kert collections: Due to continued wintry conditions, our staff will NOT be making household collections on Mainland Shetland today. Tomorrow is looking unlikely too, with the Amber Warning of Snow also now in place. We WILL attempt to collect in Yell today (Wednesday). There may be some delays and it may not be possible to access to some properties. Temperatures are forecast to be above freezing later in the week and hopefully road conditions will improve. Staff will try to collect any previously missed collections this weekend wherever possible. We will prioritise the collection of black bags, rather than recycling collections.
- Fair Isle Primary School is open today.
-----------
Council-run youth clubs, the Youth and Employability Service, and the Additional Support Base will be closed tomorrow. Eric Gray @ Seafield will also be closed to service users tomorrow.
Road conditions across Shetland are likely to remain difficult in many areas and public bus services could be disrupted again. Anyone planning to travel by bus is advised to check the public bus voicebank in the morning on 01595 745744.
The Met Office has a current Yellow Warning of Snow and Ice for Shetland in place until Thursday.
