A number of Council premises are currently affected by a telephone outage, meaning that calls to or from Council telephones may not connect.
*** Update, 3.15pm *** Our external phone lines are back up and running again. Apologies for any inconvenience.

There is a fault with the Council’s internet-based telephony service and callers to Council premises may find that their call doesn’t connect. The extent of the disruption is not yet clear – some settings are unaffected while other locations are unable to take or make calls. Emails and calls to mobile phones are working as normal but some online services, such as payments, are unavailable.
Staff in the Council’s ICT service are currently working with the Council’s external telephony provider to resolve this. Anyone calling the Council is asked to try again later or find an alternative means of contact. Shetland Islands Council apologises for any inconvenience.
