Shetland Islands Council will carry out essential resurfacing work from tomorrow on Berry Road in Scalloway, which is expected to last two days, weather permitting.
The work will mean that the south section of Berry Road, near the British Legion and Scalloway Public Hall, is closed to all through traffic. Diversions are available, via nearby Gibblestone Road and Meadowfield Road and Craigpark Road. The work will tie in with other resurfacing work recently carried out at Houl Road.
This resurfacing is expected to take place on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th June and drivers are asked to remove any parked vehicles from Berry Road during this time. Access will be maintained to and from properties on this road.
During this closure, the public bus service between Lerwick and Scalloway (Service 4) will divert via Gibblestone Road on journeys to and from Port Arthur. However, buses will continue to stop for passengers to alight and board as close as possible to the usual stop near Scalloway Public Hall.
Shetland Islands Council apologises for any inconvenience caused by these works.
