Two public meetings will take place in the next month to outline proposals for an extension of the Scord Quarry near East Voe, Scalloway.
Shetland Islands Council is proposing an extension to the existing roadstone quarry, that would measure 4.94 hectares in area, to the north-east in the area of the south end of Outnabreck Hill.
Meetings with a public display of the proposals will take place at Scalloway Public Hall, from 3pm to 8pm, on Monday 23rd February and Monday 2nd March 2026.
Interested parties and the general public are invited to attend, where staff from the Council’s Roads Service will be on hand to discuss the proposals and to take comments. Comments or queries can also be e-mailed to roads@shetland.gov.uk
These events form part of a Pre-Application Consultation under the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997. Comments made to the Roads Service at this stage are not representations to the Planning Authority. There will be an opportunity to make representations on the application subsequently submitted to the Planning Authority.
