Anyone not already registered to vote has just a week left to ensure they can take part in the forthcoming Scottish Parliamentary Election on Thursday 7th May.
The deadline to register to vote is midnight on Monday 20th April at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote or by contacting the Electoral Registration Office in Lerwick on 01595 745700.
Poll cards have been sent to all those who are already registered to vote. Anyone who has only recently applied to register will receive their poll card in the post soon.
Electors who are registered can apply for a postal vote. Completed applications for postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Office by 5pm on Tuesday 21st April.
Electors who wish to appoint a proxy to vote on their behalf have until 5pm on Tuesday 28th April to make an application to do so.

Scanned images of completed forms can be emailed to ero@shetland.gov.uk, or can be posted or hand delivered to the Electoral Registration Office, 20 Commercial Road, Lerwick, ZE1 OLX
