Where does the money go?

The majority of the direct spend went towards providing respite and short breaks for carers through various services like Newcraigielea, Community Care Resources, and Adult Social Work (using Self-Directed Support options and contracts with other organisations). £1,066,823
Information and advice: A smaller amount funded information and advice services for carers through grants to Voluntary Action Shetland and the Citizen's Advice Bureau. £23,944
Adult Social Work funded SDS Option 1 packages where a carer identified. This spend will have created positive outcomes to both the cared for person and carer. £1,152,483
Other support: Spending on other Self-Directed Support packages where a carer is involved and providing Carer's Support Plans Figure unavailable
Children's carers: Support for parents caring for children with complex needs Not managed by the IJB
