Ferry travel account card

Credit Account Facility - Eligibility Criteria

1.1       Shetland Islands Council Ferry Operations offer credit facilities to persons and companies travelling regularly on board its vessels.

1.2       Account cards allowing fares for vehicles and their drivers to be charged to a credit account can be issued, with invoices for any payments due being issued monthly in arrears.

1.3       All travel charged using these facilities will be charged at the full fare rate, and no discount will be applied.

1.4       Vehicle drivers wishing to take advantage of existing discounted fares must continue to utilise Multi-Journey Tickets, or pay on board, with discount being applied on production of a previously issued SIC Covid Account Card or Shetland Islands Council issued NEC card.     Passengers will continue to have the discounted rate applied automatically.

1.5       Credit facilities will only be offered to persons/companies who meet the minimum spending criteria of £60/month or £700 per annum. Adherence at this level will be monitored and if this level is not achieved consistently cards may be withdrawn.

1.6       Credit accounts which have been inactive for a period exceeding twelve months will be withdrawn.

1.7       Applications for a credit account can be made by contacting ferries.admin@shetland.gov.uk
