Housing Service repairs restart - update for tenants

A full repair service, accepting new routine calls, is expected to start from Monday 17th August. This date may be subject to change, depending on further government guidance.

As a result of the lockdown, there is a backlog of repairs. We will be logging new calls till 17th August; however priority will be given to clearing our backlog in the meantime. We will begin to work through that backlog from Monday 20th July, focussing initially on outdoor repairs. If tenants currently have a repair logged they do not have to contact us again as we will still have it recorded, and the Repairs Helpdesk will be in touch to schedule that work. We will ask some Coronavirus screening questions before we send out an operative to properties. The Right to Repair remains suspended for now.

The safety of our tenants and employees remains our priority. We have developed Health and Safety risk assessments for any work to be carried out in tenants’ homes. As always, we would ask for co-operation to allow us to work safely. We would also thank tenants for their patience and understanding at this very difficult and challenging time.

We will soon provide an update on the re-start of Capital Works listed under our 5 Year Planned Maintenance Programme. Change to the programme will be inevitable as contractors gradually return to work.

The Repairs Helpdesk number is 01595 744399.
