During the Covid-19 pandemic, Council offices have remained closed to the public, with the majority of staff continuing to work from home wherever possible.
However, we recognise that some transactions are only effective or possible face to face, so as of Monday 2nd November the reception at 8 North Ness will reopen; this coincides with the relocation of the Housing Service into the building.
In order to avoid any confusion, the following should be noted:
- Payments can be made and claimed and documents delivered and collected as previously, but ad-hoc meetings will not be possible.
- Face-to-face meetings will only be possible if arranged in advance.
- Visitors will be expected to provide their name and contact details to support the NHS Test and Protect team.
- Face masks must be worn, hand sanitiser used and physical distancing must be maintained, and there will be a one-way system in place.
These measures are being put in place to ensure a full range of services are available to the public, but we would ask that the public do not visit 8 North Ness where alternative means of accessing services are available. Wherever possible, please call the Council’s main switchboard on 01595 693535 in advance to check that staff will be able to help you before coming to the building.
