Incident and Defect Reporting

Scalloway Harbour and Small Ports Reporting

We welcome reports from our regular and visiting pier users, and members of the public as they help us to improve the facilities we provide for the benefit of everyone.

What can I report?

How can I report an Incident

Reports can be made on pages 2 to 5  above or by using the links directly above.

What happens next?

Where there has been a pollution incident our Duty Port Safety Officer(s) are contacted, and they will visit the site to determine what the pollution is and what action we will need to take in order to remedy it.

Marine incidents will be followed up by the Duty Harbour Master to ensure we have all the information we require to support those involved and determine any actions we may have to take going forward.

Personal Accident reports will be followed up by the Port Safety Officer, and in the case of serious injury accidents may be followed up by the Council Health and Safety Manager to make sure a full investigation is carried out and to ensure you feel fully supported and ensure a similar incident does not happen again.

Defects will be reported to our Port Safety Officer for logging and the relevant member of staff will be tasked with taking appropriate action.

Will I get feedback?

An initial auto reply will be sent as a receipt of your emailed report

If you would like to receive further information on a report you have submitted or been a part of you can request feedback at any time from a member of the Ports Management Team.
