Summer Opening Times ( April 2024 - October 2024)
** PLEASE NOTE: The site will close 15 minutes before the times listed and no vehicle entering the site in this time will be allowed to dump rubbish.
Monday to Friday: 8am to 7pm **
Saturday 8.am - 4pm **
Sunday: 10am to 4pm **

Commercial waste must go over the weighbridge and not in the civic bins
Please treat our staff member with courtesy. They are there to advise visitors, maintain Health and Safety, empty full containers and general housekeeping. They are not there to unload your waste so you should ensure that you are able to handle the waste yourself. At the site each container will have a sign with some indication as to what is accepted in it, please take time to read the signs and if in doubt ask Please bear in mind the weather conditions on your visit as well, loose waste and open containers on a windy day are not the best mix and can cause a public nuisance.
The site is closed on:
- New Years Day
- January 2
- Wednesday after Lerwick Up Helly Aa
- Christmas Day
- Boxing Day
Opening times between Christmas and New Year may also be reduced, any changes will be advertised.
