Aith Junior High School Enhanced Provision
In June 2025, a decision was taken by Shetland Islands Council to pause the plans to establish Enhanced Provision at Aith Junior High School following concerns which were raised publicly and directly to the Chief Executive, the Director of Children’s Services and Elected Members.
A press release and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) were shared in June 2025 following a meeting with representatives of the Parent Council at Aith Junior High School.
A Lessons Learned investigation took place to inform future implementation of Enhanced Provision for other designated schools identified for such work in Shetland Islands Council’s (SIC) Learning Estate Strategy.
An action plan has been developed to track progress of the recommendations within the Lessons Learned Report, with regards to Enhanced Provision at Aith Junior High School. Copies of the action plan are accessible using the below links:
