Getting Involved
All Community Council meetings are open to the public, so if you’re curious about how things work, you are welcome to attend and observe before deciding to get involved.
Every four years, people who are interested in improving their communities can nominate themselves as Community Councillors to represent their community's views and work with others to improve the area.
To be a Community Councillor you need to be:
- 16 years or older
- on the electoral register for the area you wish to represent
- able to commit a few hours every 4-6 weeks
The last Community Council election took place in 2025. Outside of election times anyone interested in joining can be co-opted by the Community Council if they have vacancies. If you are interested in being involved, please contact the clerk of your local Community Council.
