Shetland Community-Led Local Development (CLLD) Programme 2025/26

What projects can be assisted

Shetland CLLD supports projects that will contribute positively to local people and local priorities by helping communities thrive through community-led initiatives.

Our main focus for activity will aim to support sustainable projects which can be reflected within the following four priority areas:

  • Helping families and services through the cost of living crises, including helping to address the drivers of child poverty
  • Increasing community capacity to address rural challenges
  • Transforming the economy to deliver net zero and
  • Creating sustainable public services

Projects which support one or more of the Programme priorities will be considered for funding.  Projects which have clear potential to increase capacity or generate community wealth building potential are encouraged.

Projects can comprise a completely new activity or may be additional activity undertaken by existing projects. Where possible, projects will be encouraged to work in partnership to deliver projects.

Applications for Shetland CLLD funding for energy efficiency projects require a professional independent assessment before they can be considered.  This assessment is available free of charge from Business Energy Scotland.  Please contact the CLLD coordinator to discuss.
