Summer Library Challenge 2026: The Big Splash!
The Summer Library Challenge is back for 2026 with this year's exciting theme, The Big Splash!
Pop into the library and pick up your stamp card from 3 July to get started.
How it Works
Receive a stamp every time you visit the library.
Collect extra stamps for:
- Reading books.
- Completing the scavenger hunt.
- Taking part in the colouring competition.
- And much more! Prizes to be won.
Visiting Shetland this Summer?
You can join in too! Visitors are welcome to take part in the challenge during their stay.
There is no special sign-up event, so you can join at any time throughout the summer. All participants must be library members, and our staff will be happy to help you join if you're not already a member.
Summer Activities for the Whole Family
Our Activities Room will be open throughout the summer, with crafts, games and activities for all ages to enjoy.
Thanks to a generous donation of craft materials from Tesco's Community Champion, there will be plenty of creative activities available for families throughout the holidays.
For Teenagers and Adults
Older readers can also take part in our Summer Reading Spree, running alongside the Summer Reading Challenge throughout the summer.
