Young People

Join in our Bookbug session for babies and toddlers for songs, rhymes and fun.

Welcome back to Bookbug at Shetland Library.  Booking is essential as numbers are limited to 10 adults (plus babies/toddlers).

You need to book through Eventbrite Shetland Library Events | Eventbrite

Your details will be securely held on Eventbrite for Test and Protect purposes.

Covid precautions:

* Please take lateral flow test before meeting with other people*

Sessions are within a public space and we will therefore ask adult participants to wear a mask unless exempt.  We will be encouraging social distancing of at least 1m.

Mareel Bookbug sessions will also be starting again on Thursday (in-person) in February, and bookings can be made through their box office.  Check their social media and website for any updates.

We recommend that all customers take a lateral flow test before attending any events, in line with current Scottish government guidance.  In the event of a positive result please stay home and follow NHS advice.

If you want to run your own session at home, Scottish Book Trust has a page of songs and rhymes to help you.

Bookbug is the government's book gifting programme for the under fives.  Shetland Library, in partnership with NHS Shetland, provides four stages of packs to encourage a love of books and reading.
