IJB strategic planning
The IJB plans how health and social care work together in Shetland. The IJB creates a plan called the Joint Strategic Plan, this Plan describes how the health and care services will work together so that everyone can get the help they need, and that the help is safe and good quality. The plan describes how different health and care services in Shetland work together as a team, we call this the Shetland Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP). The Joint Strategic (Commissioning) Plan provides a list of what services will be provided and who will provide them.
The IJB is responsible for strategic planning of the functions delegated to it by the Council and the Health Board and for the preparation of the Strategic Plan.

Making our information understandable
The IJB knows that our information and reports can be confusing because they often have many numbers and medical words. We are working to make our website pages and reports easier to understand. This may include summaries that explain the important parts in simpler, everyday language.
