IJB Planning and Strategies

Directions

Directions are a set of IJB documents that provide clear descriptions and instructions to NHS Shetland and Shetland Islands Council on services provided on behalf of the IJB. Directions ensure that the services are provided in accordance with the Joint Strategic Plan.

Directions take account of the needs of individuals in respect of equality, diversity and human rights, in line with the IJB Strategic Commissioning Plan 2022-25 (‘the Plan’).

The IJB commision NHS Shetland and Shetland Islands Council to provide these specific services as delivery providers. These are delegated services, as given by the IJB Integration Scheme.  It is expected that NHS Shetland and Shetland Islands Council will provide these services, within budget, and to meet performance targets and outcomes.

o Community Nursing
o Justice Social Work

o Hospital based services
o Unpaid carers
