Shetland schools to return full time after the Easter Holidays
The Council has responded to the First Minister’s statement yesterday, regarding the full-time return of all children and young people to in-person, face-to-face, learning after the Easter Holidays.

Operational note – Road closure: B9073 (‘Black Gaet’)
The B9073 road, known as the ‘Black Gaet’ will soon close to all through traffic, due to the current wintry conditions.

Bus services – 6th April 2021
Most public bus services are currently suspended and the continued combination of wind and snowy conditions are likely to continue to impact on bus and inter-island ferry services throughout the day.

Reminder – deadline for Postal Vote applications
Electors who want to apply to vote by post at the Scottish Parliament Election on 6th May only have a few days left to do so – the deadline is 5 p.m. on Tuesday 6th April.

Shetland’s most in need families to receive financial help for Easter
Some of Shetland’s families are receiving a £100 ‘COVID Spring Hardship Payment’ for the Easter Holidays. The funding provides a payment for each pupil registered for free school meals by Wednesday.
