There are lots of other things you can do to make a difference, here are a few more ideas and suggestions to help reduce your impact.
- Certain search engines, like Ecosia, plant a tree for every search you make
- Choose peat-free compost for use in your garden
- Have a nature friendly garden, look for seasonal plants for pollinators, and avoid pesticides
- Leave areas of your garden wild or if you don’t have space consider building a bug hotel
- Make your voice heard, contact your MP, MSP or Councillors
- Opt for eco-friendly cleaning product alternatives
- Plant trees (be sure to find types that will thrive in the Shetland climate)
- Take time with nature
- Volunteer and engage with your local community
