Building warrant fees will change from 1 April 2026.

Updated versions of the Building Standards Procedural Handbook and Building Standards Enforcement Handbook have also now been published by the Scottish Government.
The revised Procedural Handbook (Third Edition, Version 1.9) includes the updated table of fees from 1 April 2026, minor amendments throughout, and new guidance on long-term building neglect.
The revised Enforcement Handbook (First Edition, Version 1.1) includes strengthened guidance on consulting Historic Environment Scotland for listed buildings, where circumstances allow, and a new anonymised case study on collaborative decision-making.
