A Community PB Project based in the Mossbank area to distribute £5,000, undertaken in 2014.
A steering group was formed involving Mossbank Community Members, Delting Community Council, Mossbank School & Parent Council, Youth Services, Active Schools and Community Development. The steering group undertook the following:
Planning Meetings & Community Consultation 2013 – 2014, Public Meetings, Marketing & Awareness Raising - 2014, Applications submitted by community groups & sifted, Community Voting Day June 2014, Monies Distributed, Projects delivered, Quarterly Monitoring to keep track of progress, Project Completion Feedback Received.
44 people attended the Voting Evening.
Of the 10 successful projects 7 drew down their money and ran thier projects; Youth Club First Aid, Youth Club Dance, Kidzone, Parent Council, Mossbank Primary School, Guides & Brae Leisure Centre.
This contributed to individuals more skilled in first aid and prepared to help if required, individuals healthier due to the exercise classes, Kidzone participants more involved in their activities and gaining a broader range of skills, knowledge and experiences. The barbeque has provided a focal point at community events, brought people together and the group is proud of their achievement and are taking great pride in looking after it well. Children at the school engaged with the planting project and were involved in the selection of the types of fruit tree and have been learning planning skills for when they produce their products from the fruit.
Some projects awarded funding have not proceded, mostly due to changes in volunteers/committees.
